The love of horses started for Lana as it does for every child: an obsession with all things equine. While she is an astute jumper rider and trainer with a strong emphasis on equitation and dressage foundation her knowledge base extends to a plethora of equestrian disciplines from brief dabbling in other sports to include: western reigning, roping, western pleasure, barrels, saddle seat, as well as natural horsemanship methods. Lana grew up riding under the TUTELAGE of local trainers listed with the Texas Hunter Jumper Association-THJA, who showed on the AA circuit in hunters and jumpers as well as taken clinics from world reknown and accomplished equestrians in dressage, Showjumping, as well as hunt seat equitation; Wolfgang May - arberieter at The Spanish School of Riding in Vienna, Karl Milkolka, Colonel Ojeda, Jeane Claude Racinet, Chimene Burnett, Tamara Knox, Linda Yarborough, training at Rancho Sante Fe at Hap Hansen's barn, Luis Gausch Canales-Olympic who trained with Paul Shockemohle, Justin Resnik of California who also trained with PS www.schockemoehle.com and Internationally Certified Showjumper and European Event Champion, Chris Ruysen . LanA's dedication was unparalleled in that she would often ride 5-6 horses/day in her teens of her own volition, her classically correct equitation and ability to adapt to any horse she rode coupled with formal education has made her a horse trainer and riding instructor that she is today. She has started many horses under saddle, worked with horses labeled as "problem horses" and developed more willing and capable equine partners. Being articulate, she is able to effectively communicate what she feels to her students. Her passion for communicating to horse as well as to rider is one that she revels in sharing with others and is a trainer that is still actively learning, taking clinics, and growing as a rider and trainer.
